How to Navigate
Browsing:

The home page presents some useful navigational tools to quickly browse through the site. The upper navigational bar divides a vast collection of information into broad categories, such as Citizens, Business, and County Offices. Clicking on a particular category takes you to a subpage of related links and information. In this way, you can quickly and easily find the Polk County web page that meets your needs.

The left side of the page contains a table called Quick Links. This table contains several lists of departments and popular pages to make navigation to them easier. Use the scrollers on the side of each category to quickly find the page you are looking for. The pages are listed in alphabetical order within each category.

Every subpage in the Web Site has its own unique browsing table in the left-hand column. These unique tables allow you to jump easily from one category to another. It should be noted that the unique browsing tables only contain links relevant to the current page.

As you explore a category in the Web Site such as Departments, you will notice a list of links begin to form under the navigational bar. These links are called bread crumbs, and they provide easy access to the previous pages you explored in your current category.

From each page on our site you can navigate to the home page in at least two ways. The Polk County logo in the top left-hand corner of the page, and the first entry in the bread crumbs will always take you to the home page
