Welcome to Polk County's new Division for Organization and Employee Development. We are excited to be your partner in the endeavor to improve Polk County government, making us not only the County of Choice, but the Employer of Choice as well.
Our mission is to apply a forward-thinking, high quality organization and employee development strategy that

It is critical to the success of our organization that we take a collaborative and consultative approach with our customers, the County's various departments, as well as individual employees.

Our Purpose . . .
Our shared purpose is to develop and support organizational health and effectiveness in a changing environment by providing ongoing consultation and learning and development opportunities in a collaborative, innovative, and accountable way for BoCC employees, teams and leaders.
Our key objectives:
- Develop and support systematic plans to broaden employees skills and
knowledge through formal training and blended learning experiences that are aligned with the County's strategic initiatives and key performance measurements.
- Support leaders and employees in developing a workplace culture
dedicated to exceptional customer service and continuous improvement.
- Manage continuous development and promotion initiatives to sustain
employee participation and involvement in improving BoCC operations and services through the employee suggestion program, SHINE.
- Support and enhance the motivational climate through the
development of employee recognition and award programs that acknowledge the value and contributions of exemplary employees.
- Promote effective team-based problem solving through facilitation and
participation in process and service improvement efforts. |
