Code Enforcement Division

The Code Enforcement Division enforces the County Zoning Ordinance and other land use-related ordinances and codes. This division provides for the handling of complaints concerning abandoned or distressed vehicles, substandard housing, junk, overgrown lots, commercial vehicles on residential property, etc. This division is also responsible for enforcing the sign code. Cases which are not resolved are scheduled to appear before a Hearing Officer. Appeals of the Hearing Officer’s decisions go before the Code Enforcement Board.

Our Mission
Code Enforcement provides effective enforcement of all sections of the Land Development Code and various ordinances to protect the beauty and quality of our communities for all citizens of Polk County.
