Post Your Address
If you have an Emergency, we need to know where you are!

Posting your address correctly could prevent a delayed response by emergency services.  It could potentially save the lives of you and your family.  Emergency responders rely on you to make your house or business "address safe."  When posting your address, be sure to consider the following:

  • Attach address to your building front and in situations where the structure is not visible from the roadway, the building number shall also be permanently attached to a separate permanent structure such as a mailbox (on both sides), post, wall or fence; provided that such separate structure is clearly visible and legible from the roadway and identifies the building.
  •  Your numbers should be at least 3 inches in height.  This way, an emergency responder can easily see them when traveling in either direction at the posted speed.
  • Take care of anything that blocks your numbers (such as trees and shrubbery)
  • Make sure numbers are made of durable and water-resistant material
  • Make certain that your numbers are a contrasting color to their background
  • Remember to check your address numbers regularly for obstruction or damage
