100_0210

Services offered:

Fire Extinguisher Training: A hands-on training experience designed to equip adult participants with the ability to safely and effectively operate a fire extinguisher.  Procedure, maintenance, and execution are presented in this 30-45 minute program.

Fire Engine Visit: Fire equipment from your local fire station may be parked at your event to give your attendees a chance to see actual fire equipment up close. Fire crews will remain available for call-out to other emergencies, but may show off their apparatus while not on an emergency run.

Friendly Firefighter: This program is designed to familiarize children with firefighters and their protective gear.  The goal is to create the perception of firefighters as friends and community helpers.  Students will learn the pieces of protective gear and how they work to protect each firefighter.         Program length: 30 minutes.

Story Time is Safety Time: This program was created for children ages 3-5 years. The emphasis is on identifying smoke as a hazard and teaching children how to properly and safely exit a home that is filling with smoke.  Program created by Cheryl Edwards, Lakeland Fire Department.  Program length: 35-40 minutes.

E.D.I.T.H.: Exit Drills In The Home is a program designed to teach the basics of recognizing, planning, and safely exiting a home or structure during a fire emergency.  Participants will learn how to create a home fire escape plan, how and when to test home smoke alarms, and the proper way to exit the building.

Remembering When:  This NFPA program is a fire and falls prevention program for older adults.  Participants will learn creative ways to make make their home a safer place to live.  Program created by the National Fire Protection Association.  Program length:  30-40 minutes.
