|
|
|
Our Mission The mission of the Human Services Department is to increase opportunities for self-sufficiency and independence of Polk County’s citizens and to plan, advocate, administer and obtain additional grant funding for programs and policies that help eligible citizens attain basic services and appropriate care.
|
| Finance Center
The Human Services Department uses a centralized
financial system to ensure that the department functions more efficiently
and effectively. The Finance Center manages and oversees the fiscal
activities and financial affairs of the department. Grant-funded programs
bring a need for strong procedures for procurement, contract management,
financial management, and performance assessment of programs, particularly
those that are provided through third-party contracts with community
services providers. For more information please call 863-534-5200.
Planning, Development, and Quality Assurance
The Quality Assurance Unit evaluates programs administered by the Human Services Department and ensures that each program and
activity is in compliance with local, state and federal regulations. This unit assists each division in writing effective contracts and developing
acceptable standards of performance and measurable outcomes. The Human Services Planner collects and analyses statistical information to
measure the well being and unmet human service needs of the citizens of Polk County and develops strategies to meet those needs. The
Development Coordinator identifies public and private sources of grants-in-aid, donations, joint ventures, and enterprise activities that will
enable the Human Services Department to address unmet human services needs. For more information please call 863-534-5300.
