Drainage
Mission Statement

Natural Resources and Drainage monitors, protects and strives to manage Polk County's natural resources for the benefit of our citizens and the environment.

The Regional Drainage Section consists of two programs:

Drainage Operations Program -

To restore, maintain and manage the County's off-road drainage system in accordance with the County's Drainage Policy for the health, safety and welfare of the Polk County citizens.  The off-road drainage system generally consists of the drainage facilities outside road right-of-way (ROW) where the County has an easement of ownership.

Regional Drainage (Community Investment Program) -

Develop, manage and implement the Community Investment Program that identifies and provides permanent, corrective solutions to regional and off-road drainage issues that impact Polk County.  Manage the restoration and continued maintenance of drainage systems.

The purpose of the site is to advise and direct citizens of Polk County with drainage, and flooding problems or concerns.
