The Land Development Division is one of the divisions within the Office of Planning and Development. The Division is currently comprised of four sections:
- County Engineering: This section works to insure that lands within the County are used/developed for the overall benefit of the community in accordance with the Comprehensive Plan, land development regulations and state requirements.
- Comprehensive Planning: This section is responsible for the preparation and implementation of the County's Comprehensive Plan. This includes evaluating proposed amendments to the Comprehensive Plan and developing long-range plans for selected areas of the County. This section collects data and performs research regarding growth trends, the need for infrastructure required to support development, coordination of projected growth with the County's Capital Improvements Plan, and the provision of information on census and demographics.
- Current Planning: This section works to insure that lands within the County are used/developed for the overall benefit of the community in accordance with the Comprehensive Plan, land development regulations and state requirements.
- Processing: This section processes applications for variances for the BOA, Levels 3 and 4 Development Plans for the Planning Commission and the BoCC; coordinates subdivision plans; non-residential site plans; plat reviews and maintains records of development actions.
