Brief Site History:

This property was purchased by Polk County in 1997 and is now managed by the county. As part of the Lake Wales Ridge ecosystem, the site is home to many threatened and endangered plant species.

Description:

Ancient scrub, lakeshore, and oak hammock serve as home to wildlife that includes gopher tortoises, Florida scrub lizards, and wading birdds. The site also shelters 14 rare plants.
