Innovation, Efficiencies and Effective Best Practices document profiles 17 great examples of programs undertaken by Polk County to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Each of these examples (there are many more) illustrate new, progressive practices we developed to continuously improve the County’s level of service, as one would expect of an “All-America County.”
Our Better, Faster, Cheaper teams took on some tough projects and delivered excellent results. The projects demonstrate the power of cross-functional teams using a structured approach to process improvement. These teams got off to a great start in the first round of projects as exhibited in the summary. This approach will continue to be a key strategy in Polk County’s efforts to do things Better, Faster, Cheaper in the years ahead.
