The County Manager is hired by the Board of County Commissioners and is responsible for all the departments under the County Commission, except for the County Attorney s Office, which answers directly to the Board. The County Manager selects, employs, and supervises county personnel. The Manager's duties are described in the County Charter and in the County Manager's ordinance. The Equal Opportunity Office, also part of the County Manager's direct staff, administers the County's equal employment opportunity and affirmative action programs.

A Deputy County Manager and an Assistant County Manager assist the Manager in carrying out the decisions, policies and ordinances made by the Board.
