  • North Central Landfill Disposal Fees Waived

    Bartow, Fla. (Sept. 19, 2017) — Tipping fees (disposal fees) at the North Central Landfill for residential vegetative debris as a result of Hurricane Irma will be waived for 30 days, beginning today and extending through Oct. 18, 2017, unless otherwise extended.

    The landfill hours for accepting this material will be as follows:

  • County Parks to reopen Friday, Sept. 22

    Bartow, Fla. (September 20, 2017) —  Polk County parks and campgrounds listed below will open to the public on Friday, September 22, 2017; however, some parks will have limited access.

  • Operation Blue Roof comes to Polk County

    (Bartow, Fla. - September 20, 2017) The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be in Bartow starting Wednesday to provide no-cost temporary repairs for roofs damaged by Hurricane Irma.

    Representatives from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers are now available from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Bartow Municipal Airport, 5253 Airport Blvd., US 17 and Spirit Lake Road, Bartow.

  • What To Expect When You Register For FEMA Disaster Assistance

    Polk County residents who experienced property damage or loss directly caused by Hurricane Irma can register with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for disaster assistance, even if the property is insured. Homeowners and renters may qualify.
