Learn the essentials of successful warm season vegetable gardening from seasoned experts. From selecting the right seeds and soil to mastering proper watering and pest control techniques, this interactive session will equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to cultivate a thriving vegetable garden in your own backyard.
In the second part of our workshop, shift from the garden to the kitchen as our experts guide you through the art of transforming your harvest into mouthwatering, nutritious meals. Discover creative and easy-to-follow recipes that make the most of your freshly grown produce, ensuring that your efforts in the garden are rewarded at the dining table.
In addition, families that attend will learn about the New Worlds Reading Initiative and how to become eligible for UF IFAS’s Books & Cooks Family Course in Polk County. Families who attend the event will sign up to receive a FREE Meal Kit from EveryPlate, the Books & Cooks Meal Kit provider.
