Have you ever wondered how to preserve meat by canning? Or what it would taste like?
Join UF/IFAS Extension Family and Consumer Sciences Agents LuAnn Duncan and Andrea Nikolai to learn how to safely preserve meat (such as beef, ground beef, pork, lamb, venison, poultry, or rabbit) into a shelf-stable jar that can last without refrigeration.
Canning meat can be a handy alternative to storing all your meat in the freezer; you don’t have to worry about losing it in a power outage! Also, you have meat that is cooked and ready-to-go; no need to thaw it out first! And you might be impressed by how it turns out!
In this class you will learn the steps to canning meat safely, the two methods you can use when filling the jars, and you will get to sample canned stew beef, canned chicken, and canned ground beef so you can see what you think.
Leave with the confidence to do it yourself at home.
Cost per ticket: $18. Refunds up to 7 days before event. Eventbrite fees are nonrefundable.
