County Road 640 (Pinecrest Road) Closing for CSX Crossing Upgrade

Published on Sep 19, 2019

Bartow, Fla. (September 13, 2019) — Starting Tuesday, repairs by CSX Transportation will close County Road 640 (Pinecrest Road) for four days at the rail crossing between Anderson Road and the New Wales Road entry to Mosaic’s phosphate facility southwest of Mulberry. To bypass the work zone, westbound through traffic along County Road 640 will detour northerly at State Road 37 in Polk County to State Road 60; and eastbound through traffic will detour northerly at South County Road 39 in Hillsborough County to State Road 60. Local traffic can use Anderson Road and Allen Road to Nichols Road as shorter alternate routes. Crossing should reopen Friday afternoon. Commuters can expect longer trips in this rural area with limited secondary roads. Motorists are encouraged to drive carefully and to add time to their trips. Once completed, crossing repairs will make for better and safer driving conditions. Anyone wanting to report a public road rail crossing issue or complaint should call CSX at (877) 835-5279 or send an email to TellCSX@csx.com.
