Two CSX Crossing Closures to Slow Mulberry Area Traffic Next Week
Published on Feb 19, 2021
Bartow, Fla. (February 18, 2021) — Track upgrades by CSX Transportation will close two rail crossings south of Mulberry near Bradley Junction. Starting Sunday, Old Highway37 will be closed between Pinecrest Road (County Road 640) and Pebbledale Road. Jamison Road between State Road 37 and Old Highway 37 north of Agricola Road near the Rolling Hills subdivision will close on Monday. Repairs will last two to three days at each crossing. Minor travel delays are expected, while traffic is detoured to bypass both work zones. Motorists are advised to observe signs redirecting traffic and to add time to trips through these areas.
CSX may change starting date and duration of closures without prior notice. The Polk County Board of County Commissioners and County Manager’s Office regret the traffic disruption motorists will face from these closures requiring detours. Due to longstanding statutory entitlements, CSX has considerable authority to close their crossings along public and private roadways. Polk County recognizes these repairs are necessary and will make for better, safer driving conditions when completed.
Anyone wanting to report a public road rail crossing issue or complaint should call CSX at 1-800-232-0144 or email them at TellCSX@csx.com.
