The Housing and Neighborhood Development (HND) Office of Health & Human Services is looking for volunteers who would like to serve on the Community Development Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC).

The CAC is comprised of up to fifteen members who assist in reviewing and evaluating the Public Service grant applications for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) funds according to criteria established in the Polk County Consolidated Plan and policy established by the Board of County Commissioners. This program assists with the oversight and implementation of community development activities which reduce or reverse evidence of physical, social or economic decline in communities populated predominantly by low- and moderate-income people.

Persons potentially affected by the program, along with social service providers, are encouraged to apply.

The CAC meets a minimum of four times per year at HND in Bartow or virtually. Meeting dates and times will be established through a polling of members.

Terms for members of the CAC are for three years. Members must be approved by the Board of County Commissioners prior to serving. If you are interested in becoming a member of the Citizens Advisory Committee, please submit your resume and your CAC Member Form to or call (863)534-5240.
