Bartow, Fla. (Dec. 23, 2024) –Polk County Parks and Recreation is implementing revised campground rules that will be enforced starting Jan. 1, 2025.
The changes being made will improve the recreational experience for visitors, provide fairer access to facilities and to align policies with other county agencies.
Additions and updates to the campground rules include the following additions and updates:
Maximum Length of Stay
The maximum stay is 14 consecutive days, after which the camper must vacate that particular campground for 28 days before returning. Additionally, a cumulative maximum stay of 100 days per year is now enforced across all campgrounds managed by Polk County.
ID Requirements for Campers and Minors
To reserve a campsite, campers must be 18 years of older and provide a valid form of identification. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
Caretaker Procedures
After-hours entry or exit must be pre-scheduled with the resident park caretaker and will be subject to caretaker availability.
Vehicle Restrictions
The use of ATVs, dirt bikes, golf carts and other off-road or unlicensed vehicles is strictly prohibited. These types of vehicles may not be used on-site.
Rule Enforcement
Violating campground rules may result in the following: removal from the park or campground, trespass orders and/or the inability to utilize other Polk County campgrounds.
Reservations
Campgrounds will remain first-come, first-served until a new online booking system becomes available in the Spring of 2025. There will be more information about this new booking system closer to its launch.
