Emergency Utility Repairs to Slow Traffic on Lake Ariana Boulevard in Auburndale

Published on Jan 24, 2020

Bartow, Fla. (January 23, 2020) — Emergency repairs by the City of Auburndale to restore a faulty sewer lift station will close the southbound travel lane along Lake Ariana Boulevard between Old Lake Alfred Road and Century Boulevard in Auburndale. The northbound travel lane will remain open to traffic during repairs. Work should be completed and the southbound travel lane reopened by Saturday. Until then, southbound traffic will detour at Keystone Road or McNichols Avenue to Lake Alfred Road to bypass the work zone. During construction, residents living on the 1000 and 1200 blocks of Lake Ariana Boulevard, and within the Ariana Estates subdivision or along Century Boulevard will be required to turn north to detour at McNichols Avenue. Trucks traveling south on State Road 559 from I-4 should take C. Fred Jones Boulevard west to Berkley Road, then south to U.S. Hwy. 92. Commuters are advised to drive with caution and to add extra time to trips through this area.
