BARTOW, Fla. (March 12, 2020) – Polk County recently won the Best Tasting Drinking Water Contest – Region 4. The contest is sponsored by the American Water Works Association. This year, 23 utilities in the region participated.
The entries were tasted by a panel of six judges and rated by their taste, odor, color and clarity. Region IV includes Citrus, Hernando, Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, Sumter and Polk counties.
“Many of us take for granted the water that comes out of our taps every day,” said Polk County Utilities Community Investment Program Manager Mark Addison. “Events like these showcase the work of Polk County Utilities staff, who go above and beyond to deliver safe, great tasting, high quality drinking water.”
Polk County Utilities will now enter their tap water in the state competition.
