New Panther Point Trail extension is open

Bartow, Fla. (April 22, 2021) A new trailhead for the Panther Point Trail is now open and adds nearly 4 miles of trail, bringing the total for Panther Point Trail to 8 miles. The trail connects Marshall Hampton Reserve’s trail system to the Fort Fraser Trail. Portions of Panther Point run along Lake Hancock and adjacent wetlands within county and Southwest Florida Water Management District conservation lands where hikers, bicyclists and nature enthusiasts may explore the outdoors and enjoy scenic views of nature and wildlife.
Residents and visitors now have access to more than 20 miles of paved and unpaved multiuse trails around Lake Handcock, connecting the trail system within Circle B Bar Reserve to Marshall Hampton Reserve.
