Polk County finishes in Top 10 in 17th annual Digital Counties Survey

Bartow, Fla. (July 12, 2019) — The Center for Digital Government (CDG) and the National Association of Counties (NACo) announced the winners of the 17th annual Digital Counties Survey. The survey, conducted by CDG in partnership with NACo, identifies the best technology practices among U.S. counties, including initiatives that streamline delivery of government services, encourage open data, collaboration and shared services, enhance cybersecurity and contribute to disaster response and recovery efforts.

Polk County, Florida finished in the Top 10 nationally for counties in the 500-999,999 category.

“I am so proud to be on a team with such hard working and dedicated Information Technology professionals,” said Information Technology Director David Palmer. “Working closely with the other divisions has allowed us to bring value to the residents of Polk County. We are grateful to have the support of county administration and the Board of County Commissioners.”

The Center for Digital Government is a national research and advisory institute focused on technology policy and best practices in state and local government. The National Association of Counties (NACo) unites America’s 3,069 county governments.
