Bartow, Fla. (November 5, 2019) — County Manager Bill Beasley announced the appointment of Chandra Frederick to the position of assistant county manager overseeing the Planning and Development divisions. Confirmation by the Board of County Commissioners was approved today.
Frederick has more than 20 years of local government and agency experience in land use planning, transportation planning, development review and building permitting administration. In her 12 years with Polk County she held positions that included Land Development Division Director and Building Division Director. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and a Master of Science degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Florida State University. She is also a certified planner with the American Institute of Certified Planners and a certified public manager.
In her role as assistant county manager, Frederick’s responsibilities will also be to oversee the Transportation Planning Organization (TPO). Her salary will be $126,558 annually.
“The senior management team was pleased to select Chandra to this important leadership position. She will be a valuable resource as the county continues our work on issues important to Polk County’s future quality of life and economic vitality,” Beasley said.
