Wahneta’s Lake Gwyn Park is as a great place to walk and watch the birds. The park also has a playground and a screened-in pavilion, which can be rented, as well as picnic shelters, basketball courts and soccer fields. An adjacent water restoration project has a walking trail and an observation pier.
Previously, Lake Gwyn Park was a dry lakebed thanks to a depression-era drainage canal. It has been transformed into a natural wetlands system, which allows it to send clean water to the Peace River. It also gives local wildlife more of its natural habitat.
