BoCC seeking applicants for Tohopekaliga Water Authority Board

Bartow, Fla. (Aug. 8, 2025) —   Polk County residents who are ratepayers to the Poinciana Water System are invited to apply for a position on the Tohopekaliga Water Authority (TWA) Board of Supervisors. The TWA provides water and wastewater services in Osceola County and the Poinciana Water System.

The appointee would fill a three-year term starting in October 2025. Board members can serve a total of three, three-year consecutive terms. The position is voluntary and is not compensated.

Polk County appoints one member to the TWA Board of Supervisors. In addition to being a user of the Poinciana Water System, the appointee must also be a registered voter.

The TWA Board of Supervisors sets policy and provides oversight of the utility. The Board meets the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 5 p.m. in Kissimmee; other meetings may be scheduled as required.
