Bartow, Fla. (Dec. 8, 2023) — A Tampa Electric Company (TECO) project to remove and replace several power transmission poles will close Cass Road in Lake Alfred for one-month starting Monday, December 11. New steel replacement poles are 80-feet tall and require oversized equipment to install. Poles will be set on both sides of Cass Road. Through-traffic on Cass Road will be detoured along Adams Barn Road, Lake Alfred Road, Pierce Street, and Buena Vista Drive (County Road 557).
Motorists are advised to drive carefully and be alert to detour signs. Travel delays are expected, especially during peak-hour traffic.
