BARTOW, Fla. (Jan. 4, 2024) – Polk County’s planners will hold the next local mitigation strategy meeting at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 18, 2024. The meeting, which is open to the public, will take place virtually via Zoom.
The Polk County Local Mitigation Strategy was last updated in 2020, and it is the county’s plan on ways to avoid or lessen the impact of various disasters. Anyone who would like to have lend their voice in helping to reduce the impact of disasters to Polk County, or who wants to learn more about mitigation strategies, is encouraged to attend.
