Details:

Heritage Peace River Landing is located near Homeland and Fort Meade. It’s open from 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. during winter months and 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. during the summer.

Canoe, kayak and small-boat launching only from the ADA-accessible floating dock. There is a covered picnic shelter connected to an ADA-accessible paved parking area. A dozen grass spaces accommodate parking for vehicles with small boat trailers.

The Peace River is popular with fossil hunters – fossilized shark teeth and prehistoric mammal bones can be found in the river’s gravel – and it’s a great place to canoe and kayak. After launching your canoe, kayak or small boat from the Heritage Peace River Landing, you can enjoy swamps, pine flatwoods, hardwood hammocks and marshes.
