Bartow, Fla. (April 29, 2024) — Closed since April 16 for deck repairs to correct concrete surface damage, the Deen Still Road Bridge west of Moore Road in rural northwest Polk County reopened this afternoon. Concrete patching passed multiple tests indicating deck treatments exceeded the minimum hardening standard required to safely resume traffic. However, commuters remain advised to drive carefully and be alert to flaggers in this area as nearby segments of Deen Still Road are being resurfaced with lane closures. Traffic will be stopped intermittently in both directions as paving proceeds along Deen Still Road from Rockridge Road to Hereford Road along the four-mile project length.
