Bartow, FL (March 6, 2024) — Polk County Utilities has closed the right turn lane from southbound US 98 (Bartow Road) at the 540A intersection that is westbound to repair a major water main break. This intersection and lane closure will affect traffic from Wednesday, March 6 to Friday, March 8, 2024. Motorists can expect delays as traffic turning west on 540A from US 98 will be merged to one lane of westbound traffic.
Water outages in the affected area will begin at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, with full water service restoration expected by 6 a.m. on Friday, March 8.
