Events

The Recreation Section produces more than 40 special events and programs throughout the year. These events and activities are generally free or low cost. Polk County Parks and Recreation’s special events range in size from small, community-based events that target individual communities to large scale events which are often tied to a holiday or certain interest groups.

Activities

In addition to our special events, Parks and Recreation often provides supplemental activities throughout the year that can be done either at home or on a self-guided, independent basis. These activities sometimes require pre-registration or have a limited capacity. We also offer virtual activities through our social media platforms.
